PAINTINGS IN 3D

Using a technique discovered in 3rd grade (paper mache) to create busts and figurines, it was in the late 90’s that Tommy Koenig began mounting these figures on canvases in full scenes, creating relief art in constantly evolving styles from still-life to action scenes, all displaying a playful sense of humor and an exuberance for life that literally bursts off the canvas. His first show proved to be a critical success. “I just had to own a Koenig!” said Brooke Anderson, Curator of The Folk Art Museum.
